Assuming you would like a step-by-step guide on resetting the oil life on a BMW e46: 1. Start the engine and let it run for about a minute to warm up the oil. 2. Turn off the engine and open the hood. 3. Find the oil dipstick and remove it from the engine bay. 4.
Although many manufacturers recommend replacing the fluid every 2 years, there is no straight answer to when you should change your brake fluid because car usage varies amongst drivers. O2 sensors are to be replaced at 100k mile intervals with the exception of Wideband 5/6 wire O2 sensors which are 125k miles and SULEV cars at 150k miles. While spark plugs can last to 100k+ miles, due to the aluminum
Reset will update the car, but it won’t update BMW’s systems (as expected). That being said, if you have prepaid maintenance in the US, at least, if you reset that light BMW won’t pay for the included service. If you’re paying out of pocket I doubt they will care and will happily do it for the extra revenue.
